Terms of Service

Last updated: October 2026

This is a plain-language summary of how PocketFront works, written to be clear rather than to cover every legal edge case. It is not a substitute for advice from a qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction, and you're encouraged to have one review this before it's relied on for a real dispute.

1. What PocketFront does

PocketFront converts an existing website into a native iOS and/or Android app shell, including native tab navigation, push notifications, and offline handling, and submits the finished app to the Apple App Store and/or Google Play Store under your own developer accounts.

2. Payment and deposits

Projects are billed as a flat fee per the tier selected (Starter, Standard, or Custom-native), typically split into a deposit of about half the fee, paid before work begins, and a balance due before the app is published. Payments are made by card through our payment processor, Flutterwave, and are quoted in US dollars. The checkout page may show the founder's personal name, Umar Shehu, as the merchant. Deposits are non-refundable once work has started, since that time and effort has already been spent. If a project is cancelled before any work begins, the deposit will be refunded in full.

The app is not submitted to the App Store or Google Play until the balance is paid in full. If the balance is still unpaid 14 days after you are told the app is ready, PocketFront may pause the project, and the deposit stays non-refundable.

Once you have approved the finished app, the balance is non-refundable. If PocketFront cannot deliver the app as agreed, the balance will be refunded in full.

3. Timelines are not guaranteed

While PocketFront aims to deliver a preview video quickly and submit finished apps promptly, final publication timing depends on Apple and Google's own app review process, which is outside PocketFront's control and can vary from a few days to longer in some cases. Delays caused by app store review are not grounds for a refund.

4. App store rejections

If Apple or Google reject a submission, PocketFront will make reasonable efforts to address the stated reason and resubmit at no extra charge. Rejections caused by the underlying website's own content or policy compliance (for example, content that violates App Store or Play Store guidelines) are the client's responsibility to resolve.

5. Account ownership

Every client creates and owns their own Apple Developer account and Google Play Console account, and their own free push notification account. PocketFront is added as a collaborator to build and submit the app, but never owns or controls these accounts. This is a requirement of Apple and Google, not a PocketFront policy choice.

6. The monthly care plan

Every tier includes a mandatory monthly retainer. Apple and Google require apps to be rebuilt against updated SDKs and target API versions on a roughly annual basis, or the app is blocked from new installs. The retainer funds this ongoing maintenance work. It starts at launch and is charged monthly by card until cancelled. If a monthly payment fails repeatedly, the subscription is cancelled automatically and the updates stop. You can cancel at any time using the link in your payment receipt email, but a cancelled app will stop receiving these compatibility updates and may eventually be removed from app stores as a result.

8. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. The version in effect at the time a project is booked is the version that applies to that project.
